Hello everyone. I just wanted to share my PC components and how I built my PC back in December 2016. Please bookmark this page in your browser if you would like to build this PC yourself!
The case (Cooler Master HAF 912)
The first part that I want to share with you is the case I use for my PC. I use the Cooler Master HAF 912.
This case is great because it allows easy cable management. Zip ties, screws, 2.5, & 3.5 disk drive holders are included with the case. The case provides enough room for cooling and I can keep my PC on for weeks. Here are all the features listed:
Water Cooling outlets
CPU Retaining hole
Front I/O for easy access
Supports two 120mm radiator fans
Top platform for personal belongings
Built in aggressive design
Compact interior able to accommodates 12 devices
Superior cooling performance support up to six 120 mm fans
Removable 3.5″ HDD cage provides enthusiasts more convenient installation
I use the 760GMA-P34 motherboard from MSI. This is a great motherboard and you are able to slowly upgrade your components over time. In this build, I am just creating a simple PC. Components can be expensive for a PC so I created a PC I can easily upgrade over time.
I am very surprised by this CPU. It is cheap for a basic build and is very fast. I don’t even overlock it and my windows applications load pretty fast and they don’t ever freeze or anything. I can do video editing and play small games such as Left 4 Dead 2 with this CPU on original quality settings. If you buy an aftermarket CPU cooler, you can overclock this CPU.
I bought the G.SKILL 4GB RAM and my PC runs pretty fast with this amount. I could easily upgrade if I wanted to but this is good for now as I don’t play video games on my PC. I just use it for video editing and web surfing.
I use the APEVIA 650 Watt power supply. This power supply is very good and affordable because you will be able to upgrade your PC components over time that require a lot of power such as a high end CPU or Video Card. I do not use a video card but I have this power supply installed so I am safe and don’t have to spend money on a new power supply unit just to upgrade other components.
A 1TB hard drive is recommended for storage space for videos, music, pictures, & programs. Western Digital is a great brand to get your hard drives from. They make high quality products that will last you a long time.
An SSD is very recommended for the drive your operating system will be installed on. I don’t use an SSD personally because it is still fast but is still recommended. SSDs are expensive but worth it and if your budget is limited, than you can still use a regular 3.5 inch hard drive like the one above or a smaller size for your operating system.
Windows 7 is a great operating system that many people are very familiar with. I use windows 7 Ultimate and have linux running along side of it. You can run as many OS as you would like so basically you have several options. Windows 7 and Windows 10 can be run alongside each other if one can’t make a OS decision.
